Secret Veil

It was the summer of 2006. We were planning our wedding and adding an additional Cabernet Sauvignon to our wine portfolio was the farthest thing on our minds; so thought Michelle. During a routine visit to Napa I had tasted a wine with fruit sourced from Howell Mountain and I fell in love with it. During the tasting session, I was informed that some fruit from this vineyard had just become available. I locked down on a fruit contract for the 2006 vintage year and never mentioned it to anyone. 

Later that year, Michelle and I found ourselves at a Peter Lik art gallery. The art at the gallery was amazing but one piece really caught our eye, it was named "Secret Veil".  When I heard the name, I decided to tell Michelle about the additional wine I was making. Afterwards, we felt naming the wine "Secret Veil" was a perfect fit. Three vintage years later, we are still producing this fruit forward style of Cabernet Sauvginon and it has become an integral part of our wine portfolio.
